Romglish

This is the beginning of a beautiful…

OK. Here we go. I do not for sure what will be the true purpose of this Romanian-English Symbiont Dictionary beside having fun. I started this idea along with my friend and colleague-in-pain&laughter Lucian Boariu, inspired by the ever-growing bunch of Romglish expressions that we especially meet in day-to-day advertising environment. The dictionary is an open source of satire and fun, usable by both Romanian & English speakers. Feel free to add your own words & expressions as long as they’re smart & funny.

Tzaranoise or Taranoise is a word composed by the union of Tzaran (peasant in Romanian) and Noise. It reflects upon the auditive preferences of the Romanians, usually oriented towards the modern gypsy music called “manele”. People that listen to this music category are usually dark skinned, low educated, with huge difficulties in understanding even the most elementary laws of the common sense. They drool about money and bling-bling style big golden trinkets (usually depicting Jesus Christ or some monetary symbols) and they’ll do anything for making more money. Together they create phonic pollution and mental corruption, even that their main social benefit is that they function as a bridge between young hormonal uneducated Romanian babes and the gangster wannabes from all around Romania. The tzaranoisers are both the emitters and the receivers of the tzaranoise. The rich males all dress in black in Chinese counterfeited clothes with big labels such as Armani, Dolce & Gabanna, Gucci, Versace, Hugo Boss and more while the poor ones are dressed in simple and tarnished sport outfits labeled with incorrect spelled brands: Adibas, Gocce, Virsachi, Harmani, Nice, Pumma, Karra&Karra, DKNU, etc. The women are dressed in night outfits (even that there’s daytime) with large golden earrings and eye blinding colours. They all practice table dancing, cock sucking, garlic & alcohol consuming and, why not, a visible desire for money (usually their partners’ money). The tzaranoisers have one God, and their worshiped deity is Mercedes Benz. With bling-blings and lots of shitty little trinkets hanging by the car’s mirror.

They all die stupid. And obviously go to hell.

A smutzi (the English noon “smooth”, verbalized in Romanian with the “tzi” suffix). Usually a term met in the graphics & 3D environments, it’s a perfect candidate into this dictionary. It means… to smooth
