Have you ever thought that the true responsible for your campaign aftermath, brand awareness and product power is no One but God Himself? Lucky for you, I found this stupid link on one of the Romanian advertisers blog. May God heal your brand values and give you the craved numbers in sales!
Though it is not one of my favorite horror movies (this movie lacks all the good God given artistic features), “The Cannibal Holocaust” or “The Green Inferno” by its second name, proves to be, even over 28 years since its launch, the most horrifying horror movie of all times. Why do I state that?
1. First I regard the manner in which this film was made. I guess everybody now know the marketing battle behind the “Blair Witch Project” movie, because, in an original and somehow realistic way, that movie was considered one of the most credible and genuine production in horror genre. Yeah, but was “The Blair Witch Project” banned from the beginning in 52 countries for its realistic cruelty and ratings? NO! “The Cannibal Holocaust” was the first film (except for the Orson Welles’ hoax with “The War Of The Worlds” in the 50s and Alfred Hitchcock’s somehow dark short intros to his movies) to be marketed as a post-traumatic filmed experience based on a story about the disappearance of a anthropological research team in the Amazonian jungle and the attempt of finding it. Even now, the website sustains the idea that the depicted events actually happened. (view the official site here)
The website opens with a letter from Dr. Harold Monroe, PhD. Dean of Anthropology at the New York University, congratulating the producers of “The Cannibal Holocaust” for the realism and the correct storyline, from the anthropological point of view. Despite the fact that this movie was banned in 52 countries and continues to be banned in several of them as we speak, despite the gruesome combination between explicit cannibal scenes and X Rated sexual scenes, I think this movie is the king of all horror movies of all time. As they put it on the market: The One That Goes All The Way!!!
I made a page under the <movies> section that features horror movies. I just updated it with my first Top 10 Horror movies that still give me the chills.
Dismissing the feeling I always get when confronted to a blank page, I will empty my mind here from now on, as often as I’ll check an available time spot. Admit it. You like my writing, don’t ya? I’ll start by taking a short note about who I am / do / love (in slow paces, since I’m a big mystery even to myself). I’m a guy from Romania who’s tremendously interested in art, advertising and good God given rock’n'roll. Art I did, Ads I do, rock’n'roll boils in my bloodstream since I first reached the shelf where my folks stashed the audio equipment. I am a 1977 born guy whose life went through a 6-years study program at two Art universities and a suicidal single year of Master studies, through a 7 years wild experience in advertising (that continues as I write these lines). I make graphics, mostly digital due to the lack of space I experience and my artist / advertiser portfolio you shall see on this blog soon enough. My latest frustrations (and I understand that I’m really part of a community given this attribute) determined me to start this blog. You’ll find soon enough why .
